I am Gregor Reimling, and on this site, I share my insights, experiences, and technical deep-dives into the Microsoft Cloud ecosystem.
My passion for IT was firmly established in my youth. It all started with a C128 and 5.25" floppy disks. While it began with computer games, an "incident" where my sister shoved a newspaper into the floppy disk drive required a nightly rescue operation to fix the hardware. That hands-on troubleshooting experience set the course for my future, leading to an apprenticeship as an IT businessman.
After several years managing IT infrastructure and rollout projects within the Bundeswehr, I made a degree in business informatics at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. During my studies, I founded a small consulting firm to help SMEs modernize their IT landscapes with emerging cloud solutions.
My career path led me through pivotal roles focused on Azure innovation and cloud strategy at Conet Solutions and sepago. Today, I work as a Chief Azure Technologist and operate my own freelance cloud consulting firm, BuildClouds. My core focus remains the architecture, design, and secure implementation of public and hybrid cloud projects with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
Community is at the heart of what I do. I am honored to be a Microsoft MVP for Azure and Security. I founded the Azure Meetup Bonn in 2017 to foster local knowledge exchange, and I regularly co-host the tech podcasts CloudInspires.me. Beside co-hosting podcasts and leading the local Azure Meetup, I am also the founder and co-organizer of the Cloud IdentitySummit.

Ich bin Gregor Reimling und auf diesen Seiten teile ich meine Erfahrungen und technischen Deep-Dives rund um das Microsoft Cloud-Ökosystem.
Meine Leidenschaft für die IT hat sich bereits in der Jugendzeit fest etabliert. Zu Beginn noch mit einem C128 und 5,25" Disketten, waren es zunächst die Computerspiele. Die Freude wurde kurz unterbrochen, als meine Schwester vom Diskettenschacht so beeindruckt war, dass sie statt Disketten eine Zeitung hineinschob. In einer aufwendigen, nächtlichen Rettungsaktion konnte ich die Hardware jedoch wieder flott machen. Dieses frühe Troubleshooting legte den Grundstein für meine Ausbildung zum IT-Kaufmann.
Nachdem ich mehrere Jahre innerhalb der Bundeswehr für IT-Infrastruktur- und Rollout-Projekte zuständig war, schloss ich ein Wirtschaftsinformatik-Studium an der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg an. Parallel dazu beriet ich über mein erstes kleines Consulting-Unternehmen bereits KMUs auf ihrem Weg in die Cloud.
Es folgten Stationen bei Conet Solutions und sepago, wo ich Innovation Labs und Cloud-Strategien vorantrieb. Heute arbeite ich als Chief Azure Technologist und betreibe parallel mein eigenes Cloud-Consulting-Unternehmen BuildClouds. Mein Schwerpunkt liegt in der Architektur, Konzeption und der sicheren Umsetzung von Public- und Hybrid-Cloud-Projekten auf Basis von Microsoft Azure und Microsoft 365.
Die Community-Arbeit liegt mir besonders am Herzen. Ich bin stolz darauf, als Microsoft MVP für Azure und Security ausgezeichnet zu sein. 2017 habe ich das Azure Meetup Bonn gegründet und moderiere zudem regelmäßig die Podcasts CloudInspires.me. Darüber hinaus organisiere ich den Cloud IdentitySummit, eine Community-Konferenz rund um die Themen Cloud-Identity, Security und Access Management.
